PREVIEW | AFC NORMANTON(h)
FIRST RETURN FIXTURE OF THE SEASON AS THE LIONS HOST NORMANTON AT THE LEGION
UP NEXT, the first return fixture of the season, as RBL host AFC Normanton at the Legion.
After returning to top spot in midweek, following a late victory under the lights at Graham Street Prims, the Lions go into this fixture with intent, as they look to turnaround a poor away performance against today’s opposition.
AFC Normanton have had a great start to the season, which sees them currently occupying fourth spot, with two games in hand on RBL and a point behind. The last four matches have become slightly inconsistent for Normanton however, as they have two wins and two losses from the four.
RBL come into this match with two wins in a row after a comfortable cup victory last weekend over Kilburn, followed by Wednesday night’s result over previously top, Graham Street Prims.
In their last match, RBL took the short trip to Spondon, where they faced top of the pile, Graham Street Prims. After going a goal behind, Ben Rushby equalised to send the teams in at half time with the score at 1-1. An early goal in the second half looked to have settled the fixture until two late goals for RBL from Mason Booth-Davis and Emilio De Abreu snatched the points for the Lions.
AFC Normanton’s last match was also under the lights on Wednesday night, where they faced neighbours, South Normanton. AFC Normanton slipped to a 3-1 defeat.
