PREVIEW | DERBY SINGH BROTHERS (h)
RBL GO FOR THREE IN A ROW BEFORE A BREAK
UP NEXT, Mickleover RBL are again at the legion, where they host Derby Singh Brothers where they aim to make it three wins in eight days. The Lions go into the match on the back of their hard fought victory over Melbourne Dynamo on Saturday and will look to build on that result with a positive outcome over Singh Brothers on home turf.
In the space of a week, RBL have laid to bed the ghost of the opening defeat at the start of the season as they go into this match with a third win in a row in mind before having no fixture for a week and a half.
Saturday’s return to the legion saw Melbourne Dynamo come and really put RBL under pressure throughout, with ultimately, a hard fought and deserved victory for RBL, beating Melbourne 3-1. Goals from Lee Fell and Cole Hassell were answered by Melbourne just before half time to go in at 2-1. Lee Hillier bagged early in the second half and despite a lot of Melbourne pressure, RBL held firm for a 3-1 win.
Derby Singh Brothers come to the legion with just a single match under their belt at this stage of the season. An away trip to a very young and inexperienced Mickleover Reserves ended with a 3-2 win for Singh Brothers as Raza Mughal and a Lee Williamson brace gave them the victory they needed to hit the ground running. The result saw Singh Brothers extend their run from the end of last season to six matches unbeaten in the league.
With both fixtures last season ending in draws, we can expect a very close match to take place this midweek.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
Last seasons’ first fixture saw the two sides meet in March at Derby Rolls Royce. Goals for RBL from Jordy Lee and Lee Hillier were matched by goals from Lvarn Brandy and Tirhys Davidson for the match to end with the score at 2-2
