PREVIEW | GRAHAM STREET PRIMS (a)

LIONS BACK IN ACTION AFTER TWO WEEKS OFF, WITH A TRIP TO THIRD PLACED PRIMS

This weekend, only five matches in the Black Dragon South Premier Division are scheduled as six teams from the division have cup matches. The top five, however, are all in action, with RBL making the short trip to Borrowash, where they face Graham Street Prims. Prims will be looking to get revenge for a 1-0 defeat at the legion just a few weeks ago. The Lions, having had two weeks off, will aim to get back to winning ways after their last away trip ended in defeat.

In their last match, RBL faced a real battle on Cromford Meadows. A goal from Declan Jenkins gave the hosts all three points and their fourth clean sheet of the season, taking them into a more comfortable position in the league, sitting in mid-table at full time. RBL, on the other hand, lost ground on the teams above them, while still having games in hand to close the gap with. Sitting in fifth spot, but with three games in hand, the Lions will still feel confident of mounting a challenge come the end of the season.

Since the last meeting between the two sides, Graham Street Prims have put five match winning streak together in all competitions, which has seen them progress in the cup, as well as move up to third in the league, albeit having played more matches that everyone around them apart from Teversal, who sit in fourth. Their last match saw Nottingham FC visit the Asterdale Centre in Borrowash. Goals from Max Bulmer and Josh House gave Prims the victory, as a goal from Eisa Mutawakel Haroon was all that third from bottom, Nottingham could manage in reply. With three out of the four wins in recent weeks coming against three of the bottom four teams, RBL should provide a much sterner test for high flying Prims

PREVIOUS MEETINGS

The two sides last met at the end of October, where a last minute header from Lee Hillier gave RBL a hard fought 1-0 win and a fourth win in a row. The result for Prims, however, was their last in a poor run of four defeats before embarking on their current good run of form.

After a reasonably dry week, the teams can hope for a better surface to ply their trade on this weekend. As both sides have designs on a title challenge, and given the close match at the legion earlier in the season, Saturdays match could offer a closely fought battle between two in form teams

ONTO TODAY

With a reasonable amount of parking space, there should be space for a good number of visitors to head along to support the team. The match kicks off at 2pm
