PREVIEW | PINXTON (a)
LIONS BACK IN ACTION WITH A TOUGH AWAY TRIP
Next up, after no fixture last weekend, the first team travels to last seasons’ fourth placed team, Pinxton. After falling at the last hurdle last season, losing three out of their final four matches, Pinxton currently sit unbeaten in the familiar fourth spot, with a game in hand on top and three points behind.
In RBL’s only match this season, they hosted Wirksworth Ivanhoe at the legion. A Lee Hillier brace and a goal each for Mason Booth-Davis and Jordan Lee saw the Lions take the points as only two goals from Tom Mellor for Wirksworth left the score at 4-2 to RBL in their season opener.
Pinxton have started the season in the form of last season before their late collapse. With a first match goalless draw against Arnold Town, they went on to beat Ashland Rovers at home, followed by a close 3-2 victory overy Derby Singh Brothers two weeks ago. Goals from Ben Jones and an own goal doing the damage.
This weekends’ match is a must win for both sides. Pinxton will want to continue their good form and push for top spot. RBL desperately need to get the result and will be playing catchup having not had the early fixtures. With RBL coming out on top in the last home fixture by three goals to nil, they would like to feel that they have the mental advantage.
