PREVIEW | BELPER UNITED RESERVES(h)
THE LIONS GO INTO COUNTY CUP ACTION AGAINST BELPER
UP NEXT, Mickleover RBL embark on their second cup campaign of the season, as they welcome Belper United Reserves to the Royal British Legion.
After two league matches in a week, which saw the Lions move back and then maintain their spot at the top of the league, they find themselves facing the very club who have taken Lions top scorer, Mason Booth-Davis to their first team to play in the United Counties League.
Belper United Reserves are yet to taste victory this season after taking just two points in the league so far. A draw against Inter Belper was their last point three weeks ago. This record see’s them sitting third from bottom in Division One West.
RBL come into this match with three wins in a row after getting sweet revenge last weekend, beating AFC Normanton 5-0 at the legion, making up for an opening day defeat to the same opposition. Goals from Jordan Lee, Sam Vickers and a hat trick from Mason Booth-Davis completed the dominant victory.
Belper United Reserves’ last match saw them host RBL’s last cup opponents, Kilburn. An Adam Blair-Park goal was not enough for Belper as Chrisie Ward and Shaun Turner sealed the victory for Kilburn.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
While the two sides have not met, RBL reserves met Belper United Reserves twice in October last season.
The first meeting between the two was almost exactly a year ago, as they faced each other at the legion on the 8th of October. RBL won the match 8-3.
The return fixture was two weeks later, ending in a 1-1 draw.
