SATURDAY the 16th of December
Under 10 Lions
The under 10’s played Uttoxeter in the Burton Junior Football League. The game started very slowly, with the score level at half time. After a wake up call, RBL went out in the second half and did what they do best. Man of the match was River Atkins with one of the best goals we’ve ever seen and an assist that Jack Grealish would be proud of!
Under 12 Lions
The under 12’s match was postponed
Under 13 Lions
The under 13s lost 4-0 to a very physical Daventry side. Man of the match was Archie Mead
Under 17 Lions
The under 17’s put in an incredible away performance to beat Newcastle Town 2-1.
Goals Sam Lowe & Morgan Mitchell
Under 18 Lions
The under 18’s faced top of the league AFC Telford United, who hadn’t lost in 2 seasons. The lads went a goal behind which they didn’t deserve, but came back strongly, with goals from Brad Brittan and Mattie, coming away 2-1 winners
SUNDAY the 17th of December
Under 7 Tigers
The under 7’s Tigers had a tough test against a strong Chellaston Knights side.
They started the game well and had chances to take an early lead. The boys battled well in spells but unfortunately a few lapses in concentration meant they went in at half time behind.
The second half proved a different story with the boys showing great fight and determination and the Tigers winning the half.
Man of the match was Harrison Green, solid at the back as always, giving 110%. He read the game well and the first half score could have been worse if it wasn’t for him.
We go again in the new year
Under 7 Lions
The under 7’s Lions had an entertaining game with Duffield Dynamos. It was end to end football, with plenty of goals and some great passing in parts. The lads showed some good areas to improve as well. A draw was a fair result in the end. Man of the match was Piers Baldwin
Under 9 Lions
The under 9’s Lions lost 4-3 in the cup to Mickleover Sports Vikings
Under 10 Ultras
The under 10 Ultras played Willington today in the cup, who were strongly fancied to win the competition
The boys were unreal and outclassed Willington, going in 2-0 up at half time. The second half was much of the same and finished 2-1 to RBL
Man of the match goes to the whole team - 100% effort from everyone.
Under 10 Vipers
The under 10's Vipers were the less happy of the two sides as they faced Allestree Juniors Dortmund
Under 12 Lions
The under 12’s match was postponed
Under 13 Lions
The under 13’s played two games on Sunday (yes 2).
First up was Heanor Town, who were going for the league. RBL played some great football and scored some great goals, with two headers from corners. Winning 3-2. Man of the match was Blake Coulson
A quick turn around and then onto Willington, who were top of the Premier Division. The Lions started brightly, but conceded a 25 yard free kick. They got it back to 1-1 and hit the post. With the lads tiring, they conceded with just five minutes to go. Man of the match was Harvey Oakes.
With two fifty minute games, the lads showed heart and desire and we can’t be more proud of them.
The boys finished the Premier Division in fifth out of ten teams, so we will go again in January.

The under 15’s had no fixture
Under 16 Jaguars
The under 16’s match was postponed
Under 17 Panthers
The under 17's with in their first Sunday action for three weeks, as they hosted lowly Marlborough Rovers, a side whom they had already beaten 8-0 in the reverse fixture in early October. A depleted Panthers side saw debuts given to Frankie Russell and Addison Smith, who is dual registered with our under 16’s.
A totally dominant first half saw RBL go five goals up through Evann Eaton, an Omar Ahmed penalty and a hat trick from Sam Lowe.
The second half allowed for some experimenting and giving some good first game time to the debutants.
The final score was 5-0 to RBL
Under 18 Lions
The under 18’s had no match
